What’s a Coach?

A coach is someone who creates the right system, the right support, and the right accountability to help you reach your health, wellness, and life goals. Being a Certified Master Level Coach and Intuitive Eating Counselor, my goal is to rewire your brain’s current thoughts and beliefs that have been stopping you, slowing you down, or holding you back from experiencing the life you’re meant to live. We are literally changing the way you think and feel about yourself in a container where you feel held, supported, and encouraged always so that we can completely transform your relationship with food, movement, your body, and yourself forever.

What is Your coaching all about?

I believe that all bodies are made to exist freely in this world. That no body is ‘bad’ or ‘wrong.’ That every person in this world has their own unique body that is worthy of love. One that needs respect, care, and compassion, and one that no one else should have an opinion on, except you.

When we choose to deprive our bodies of basic needs like food, sleep, and self-care in response to a diet-mentality, or the ‘thin ideal,’ we’re really depriving the person we’re meant to be. We’re depriving our soul. When you aren’t connected to what you truly want – whether it’s food or movement-related, career, relationship-wise, etc., you won’t be able to experience that sense of joy and self-confidence that I know you’re looking for.

However, when we feed our souls with nourishment — when we eat what feels good to us, what satisfies us. When we move in ways that make us feel good. When we take care of our bodies by simply resting and checking in — our entire well-being benefits. We’re able to focus on what really matters to us. We have the energy to fuel our passions and our purpose. And honestly, it all starts with breaking free from diet culture and learning to listen to and respect your body so you can feed your soul with the nourishment she needs and fuel your life with the experiences that you’ve always dreamed of.

What My clients are saying:

Before working with Kathleen, I had a lot of disordered rules and restrictions with food, movement, and my body. As someone with an all-or-nothing mentality, growing up in diet culture manifested in eating disorders, stringent dieting, and over-exercising. I wanted to get to a point where I didn’t have to diet or worry about tracking food but in doing so, I stopped taking care of myself in the way I wanted to.

I would eat whatever was convenient, and sometimes I’d go all day without eating only to be ravenous by dinner. I couldn’t feel my hunger & fullness cues, and because of this, I had no energy to do the things I loved (like moving my body). I wanted so badly to have a healthy mindset but did not know how to achieve that on my own.

My biggest fear around doing this program was that I’d gain weight. But I knew I needed to change this for my own health and as we plan for a family, I also didn’t want to pass any of these issues down to my child or for them to see me struggling from any of that.

After working with Kathleen, I now understand that I’m more than my weight and that weight does not determine my health, happiness, or value as a person. I have a sense of peace with myself and my choices knowing that I’m enough no matter what my body size. I can fully honor my own hunger & fullness cues and I look at all aspects of life through a lens of curiosity and compassion vs. judgment.

I’d tell anyone who’s considering investing in this program that it’s one of the best things you can do for yourself. No amount of money could be too much for what I received. It really was a priceless gift that I got by trusting Kathleen and myself to sign up and embark on this little journey together, and it has impacted and shifted how I show up for myself, in relationships across the board, and with my body.

We only get one body. We only get one chance at life. So, it should be as sweet and fulfilling as possible. I’m so grateful to Kathleen and would recommend anyone who’s considering this to invest in yourself; give it a shot! You have nothing to lose, only so much to gain, and know that you are worth it, and you won’t regret it.
— Alexis
I first developed an eating disorder my freshman year of high school. Because I was also diagnosed with IBD, I was able to ‘normalize’ my restrictive eating habits around other people. I would obsessively exercise and think about food. Anything I ate had to be the lowest calories possible and be burned off. Any treats had to be ‘worth it.’ These behaviors lasted for years and into my adult life. Even though I gained a ‘healthy’ amount of weight back, I still never developed a healthy relationship with food or my body.

Because of this, I missed out on a lot of life’s moments. Dinners with friends, trying new foods when I traveled to new countries, and overall just added extra anxiety to any relationship I was in. When I was mad at myself for my body or what I ate, I’d take it out on those around me.

Kathleen and the intuitive eating approach felt like the space I wanted to be where I could just be the expert on my body and listen to my body vs. what other people were doing or saying.

This program helped me learn how to celebrate myself in both big and small ways by seeing how Kathleen did that for me. Our sessions felt like a safe space to share things that other people wouldn’t understand — like being able to keep a loaf of bread in my house or taking a walk instead of a hard run.

I’ve changed my perspective to look at food as something that can actually be enjoyed and not just the bare minimum to keep me going. I’ve learned that food is worth spending time and money on. That food isn’t just about surviving but about enjoyment and pleasure and fun.

I can truly say I’m proud of myself. Proud of being able to go out to dinners with my family now without the anxiety. Without feeling the need to compensate for it the next day or even purging after. Proud that I’m not constantly thinking about food or my body. Proud of not feeling like what I look like is my only worth in relationships. Proud that I’m able to keep a wide variety of food in my house — knowing that having more options actually is easier and feels so much better than having only ‘approved’ foods at home. And proud of being able to listen to my body even after ignoring it for so long.

To anyone who’s considering signing up for this program, just know that Kathleen is a great ally to have as you commit to finding a better relationship with food and your body. She’s the best cheerleader and I felt like she really adapted to where I was as and my goals for moving forward.
— Robin
It’s mind-boggling to me that I lived my life opposite of this for so long. Food and exercise had so much control and I put so much meaning and significance on what I was eating and how much I was working out. This has been an extremely LIBERATING mindset and experience.
— Lexi
Kathleen helped me navigate through my thoughts and challenge my perspectives on my appearance and insecurities I didn’t even really know were affecting my lifestyle. I would recommend Kathleen to anyone, no matter the stage of life, insecurity, or matter at fact. Even after a couple of sessions, I’m more aware of negative self-talk, unhealthy pop culture trends going on around me and truly feel like I have a healthier outlook on life.
— Alana
Having just finished a 6-month private coaching program with Kathleen, I can simply say, Thank you. Thank you for helping me find true respect and confidence FOR ME! Kathleen is honest, knowledgeable, kind, and insightful. She taught me if you can change your beliefs, you can change your experience, and that has changed how I live my life. If you are considering a new direction, she is your path. I can’t recommend her program enough.
— Suzie
Kathleen helped me finally appreciate what food does for my body. I learned to let go of negative thoughts when it comes to what I put in my body and to finally become an intuitive eater.

Her well-thought questions, active listening, and encouraging words helped me narrow down the factors that motivate me to set attainable goals. Kathleen helped me figure out ways to change my negative thoughts and behaviors, things that were sabotaging my life, by helping me realize what nourishes me and truly brings me joy. I now have several new ways to approach parenting, my relationships, including that with myself, and life overall, with confidence. This coaching provided a positive vehicle for creating and maintaining a more organized, positive and stress-free lifestyle. I would highly encourage anyone looking to better themselves and to find what truly makes them happy to work with Kathleen.
— Kaki
Before starting this program, I was completely stuck. I felt like I had nowhere to turn for the truth. I couldn’t understand how someone could just go to a happy hour and not look at the menu beforehand and then worry about how that impacted their week of dieting and ‘being healthy.’ The ideas Kathleen presented baffled me because I struggled with everything she mentioned, and it seemed too good to be true. I felt out of control around certain foods, I didn’t know what to eat or how much, I had a terrible body image, and I felt like a bad person because of the body I’m in. I was obsessed with what I was going to eat, and food was always at the forefront of my mind.

Now, I truly live my life differently. I feel safe to eat what I want to. I can’t describe how much lighter I feel without the constant shame of what I’m eating or how I’m moving. I go to parties and just enjoy myself without trying to calculate and track every bite. I feel like I can do anything with these tools because, again, I am in control; I feel liberated.

For anyone who wants to sign up for this program but is scared to make the investment, don’t hesitate; do it now. Considering the investment of time and money compared to the freedom and ease you feel for the rest of your life; it’s a no-brainer and absolutely worth it. You come out having gained SO much more than you gave.
— Hayley
Kathleen is one of the most compassionate coaches I’ve ever met. She makes me feel listened to and understood. Her caring heart and wisdom truly make a difference.
— Shanda
I’m so thankful for you and that I took a leap on your coaching; I truly believe that it helped get me mentally and physically to a better space. I wouldn’t be making any progress with all of this without your guidance so, thank you!
— Lexi
My favorite part of this program was how helpful it was to be guided through the process. I was always amazed how when I had questions, Kathleen always had great answers and helped me work through things. This really allowed me to relax and go through the process and practice of Intuitive Eating without stressing about it.
— Hayley
This is a program that taught me ways to encourage a healthier me – mind, body, and soul. Kathleen is a great teacher and a support system that kept me motivated to unlock my true potential. I would encourage anyone to research intuitive eating, and if it sparks an interest, then coach Kathleen is a great place to start.
— Suzanne
I just want everyone to do this. I want to call all of the women in my life and have them do this.
— Hayley

Frequently Asked Questions

What does private coaching mean?

Private coaching means that it’s just me and you one-on-one for our coaching sessions! We’ll be able to connect deeper on a personal level to establish the support, stretch, and accountability you’re looking for in a coach, and we’ll get to really dive into your story and what you need specifically to break up with dieting for good and learn to trust, respect, and appreciate your body.

What is intuitive eating?

At its core, Intuitive Eating is our body’s natural ability to know what, when, and how much to eat. But more than that, it’s how we connect our body and our brain to make choices that feel good to us. Instead of basing our nutritional needs and exercises choices on what other people are doing or what we feel we 'should' be doing, we’re making these choices by being the expert of our own body. If we’re able to understand that, it gives us the invitation to love our bodies for exactly what they are right now. Even if you don’t love what you see yet.

What do we talk about in the private sessions?

In the weekly private coaching sessions, you’ll explore intuitive eating and body image work in a way that serves you best. As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and Master Level Coach, my goal is not just to teach you these concepts, but to provide you with the tools to completely transform the way you think about food, movement, your body, and your health. Along with learning how to reconnect with and trust your body, you’ll be breaking through your own limiting beliefs — things that are holding you back from being the person you want to be, doing the things you want to do, and living the life you are meant to live.

So, what are you waiting for?
